To support its goal of contributing to Undip’s vision of achieving a reputation for excellence in research and publication, the Chemistry Study Programme has successfully organised an Adjunct Professor Programme. Implemented in collaboration with Muhammad Ajmal Shah, PhD, a researcher with an impressive research reputation from the Department of Pharmacy at Hazara University in Mansehra, Pakistan, who has a Scopus H-index of 32. Collaborative activities began in early 2025 once an agreement had been reached. The first products of this collaboration are joint publications. One paper has already been published in a Q2 journal, and another has been accepted for publication in a Q2 journal. One book chapter has also been published. Several others are in the process of review, submission, and writing. Dr Ajmal visited the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics from 1 to 10 September 2025. A studium generale kicked off the day’s activities, followed by a guest lecture session where Dr. Ajmal shared his insights on green extraction and bioassay of natural materials for tackling degenerative diseases. He was also keen to share his research experiences and tips for optimising results. One important technique discussed at the workshop was green microwave-assisted extraction (MAE). This technique not only optimises natural material research, but also has applications in optimising industrial-scale production. Dr Ajmal also offered advice on successfully publishing articles in leading journals such as Scopus Q2 and Q1, and on creating international grant proposals.

Here was a rundown of activities for 9 days:

All “Adjunct Professor” activities will be published separately in the activity menu section: “International: Studium General, Workshop, and Community Service”.
