Workshop: Manuscript Clinic II

Workshop: Manuscript clinic II

(Sept 8, 2025, 1.00–3.00 PM)

Building on the first clinic, this second session was even more interactive, with participants bringing revised drafts and specific questions. Dr. Ajmal highlighted strategies for targeting high-impact journals, handling reviewer feedback, and increasing citation impact. Students showed high motivation, realizing the importance of strong publication records for their academic careers.

Lecture: Bioassay Guided Isolation and Purification of Natural Compounds

Lecture: Bioassay Guided Isolation and Purification of Natural Compounds
(Sept 4, 2-25, 9.00–11.30 AM)

The technical lecture was highly interactive, with students eager to understand how biological activity can guide compound isolation. Dr. Ajmal shared step-by-step methodologies, illustrating how bioassays help identify the most promising compounds. Participants expressed enthusiasm about applying these strategies in their own laboratory projects.

Guest Lecture: Nutraceuticals In Neurodegenerative Diseases

Guest lecture: Nutraceuticals in Neurodegenerative Diseases
(Sept 3, 2025, 1.00–3.00 PM)

Participants showed strong interest in the neuroprotective role of nutraceuticals, particularly in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Ajmal presented recent findings on how natural antioxidants, polyphenols, and herbal formulations help maintain cognitive health. Students were engaged in discussing lifestyle connections, diet, and the promise of “food as medicine.”

Guest lecture: Molecular Pharmacology in Natural Products

Molecular pharmacology in natural products: Natural antivirals and immunostimulants
(Sept 3, 2025, 9.00–11.30 AM)

This session attracted students from chemistry, pharmacy, and biology programs who were curious about the pharmacological action of natural antivirals. Dr. Ajmal explained the molecular interactions of plant compounds that strengthen immunity and inhibit viral replication. Enthusiastic questions focused on current global health issues, linking the lecture directly to real-world challenges like viral outbreaks.
